About Peterborough Wide Horizon

Peterborough Wide Horizon was launched in February 2026 with a simple aim: to share news, stories, and information from Peterborough and outlying places with readers both locally and around the world..

Our articles are created by contributors living in then UK  and abroad—people who are passionate about expressing their interests through words, photographs, videos, and sound.

At its heart, Peterborough Wide Horizon is a community portal. It brings together a wide range of information about local activities, culture, and everyday life, while also connecting the many nationalities who call the UK home.

The work of our founders, Chris Elliott and the late Margaret Sheard, has been widely recognised. They have been interviewed by Can Gazi on BRT’s A Cup of Conversation and by Denise Phillips on her radio show The Main Event on Bayrak International in the TRNC

With the sad passing of Margaret Sheard, Chris Elliott returned to the UK, where he continues to run CyprusScene but has now created Peteborough Wide Horizon.

After collaborating on a project with a local newspaper, they decided to create their own publication. Challenges with the print provider led them to develop a CyprusScene online e-newspaper instead, and their first digital issue was published on 2 December 2017. When time allows, it is also planned to produce a Peterborough Wide Horizon online e-newspaper .

Chris Elliott is the founder of CyprusScene.com, created as an online community platform for sharing local news, reviews, and engaging stories from North Cyprus—and now also from the UK. His vision has always been to provide a space where informative, entertaining, and meaningful content can be shared with a wide and diverse audience.

Chris has enjoyed the privilege of writing for two North Cyprus newspapers, experiences he values greatly. These opportunities helped him develop his skills in promoting and publishing news, reviews, and community-focused stories.

Driven by a desire to give news and articles greater permanence and accessibility, Chris built this website to ensure that valuable information could be preserved and shared with a wider future audience.

One of the strengths of Paston Punch is its ability to present rich multimedia content. Readers can enjoy extensive photo galleries, slideshows, and audio features—offering a far more dynamic and immersive experience than traditional print media.

With this foundation, the CyprusScene/Peterborough Wide Horizon team remains committed to developing a first‑class community portal where information can be discovered, shared, and celebrated.

We thank you—our many readers—for your continued support, encouragement, and visits.
