Peterborough Care Home Trooping the Colour 2026 Celebration

Residents and staff at Barchester Hampton Grove Care Home in Hampton Vale, Peterborough, came together to host a vibrant, patriotic celebration in honour of Trooping the Colour 2026 and The King’s Official Birthday.

The afternoon was filled with music, community spirit, and traditional British treats as the home marked one of the most significant events on the royal calendar. The highlight of the celebration was a patriotic musical showcase by local singer Gabriella. Dressed splendidly for the occasion, she performed a beautiful selection of classic songs that had residents and staff waving flags and singing along enthusiastically.

To make the afternoon even sweeter, everyone enjoyed a freshly made, traditional Victoria sponge cake prepared by the home’s talented hospitality team. Carers actively joined in on the dance floor, which was joyful and lively atmosphere for all the attendees.

Residents and staff joined hands as they danced and sang together in celebrations

“It was absolutely wonderful to see everyone coming together to celebrate and make special memories,” said Stefan Lupu, General Manager at Hampton Grove Care Home. “Events like the King’s Birthday Parade are important traditions. We are incredibly grateful to our dedicated care team for their energy and to Gabriella for putting on such a fantastic performance.”

The royal celebration forms part of the home’s life enrichment programme designed to promote social connection, mental stimulation, and purpose for residents across its residential and dementia care communities.
