‘Mind-Blown Magic’ as International Mentalist Chris Wolff Brings Superpowers to Local Care Home Residents
Residents and staff at Hampton Grove Care Home in Peterborough were left questioning reality this week after a visit from the brilliant magician and mentalist, Chris Wolff. The afternoon was filled with jaw-dropping illusions, mind-reading, and plenty of laughter.
Chris, who has performed globally, spent the afternoon reading 
the minds of both staff and residents. In one standout moment, resident David selected the word “lighthouse” completely at random from a book. Without looking, Chris read his mind and sketched a house and a lightbulb on a notepad. “It was brilliant, and I really enjoyed the magic show,” said David, who is still trying to figure out how the trick was done.
Bringing joy to all residents
The magical experience was not limited to the main lounge. Chris teamed up with General Manager Stefan Lupu, who stepped in as a “glamorous assistant” to take the performance on the move. Together, they visited resident Mairi in her room so she would not miss out on the entertainment. Mairi was left spellbound by the private magic show, stating that she simply could not believe how great the performance was.
A childhood passion for illusions
Chris shared that his passion for illusion, which began in early childhood. After being mesmerised by a magic show as a young boy, he quickly figured out how the tricks worked and began performing these for his family. Since then, his career has taken him all over the world. “The best place I have performed was Barbados,” Wolff shared during his visit. “We loved it so much that I performed a few shows and then took an extended holiday there.”
Stefan Lupu, General Manager, expressed his gratitude for the visit: “We are pretty sure Chris actually possesses superpowers! It was a fantastic afternoon of wonder and laughs, and we want to say a huge thank you to Chris for bringing so much joy to our residents.”
